Clayton County, Georgia: After School Program 36% Passed CHANGE WITHIN THE NON-PASSING GROUP WHERE: County wide intervention program in Clayton County, GA WHO: Over 9000 students in grades 3-5 WHEN: Winter Session PURPOSE: To use Moving with Math ® Math by Topic to raise passing rates among the lowest achievers. The program focused on areas of need to help develop core understanding. 36% of students who did not pass the Pre-Test did pass the Post-test. INCREASE IN STUDENTS PASSING The number of passing students quadrupled from the Pre-Test to the Post-Test. The overall percent of increase was 367%. The mean score for the combined grades increased from 30% to 56%, a 44% increase. INCREASE IN MEAN SCORES 9
