Compatibility • The Online Assessment is accessible from any computer with a broadband internet connection. • Browser plug-ins are not required. • The website has been tested with Internet Explorer 5 and greater, Netscape Navigator 5 and greater, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. Both Windows and Macintosh platforms work equally well. • Be sure that your district or school servers do not cache information (store retrieved website information for future use) from the mwmassessment.com website. Cached files may interfere with the website’s ability to provide a customized experience for each student. Important: Setting Up Your Web Browsers You must make sure that your browsers have JavaScript enabled and that they will accept Cookies , otherwise your students will not be able to log in (cookies) or answer questions (JavaScript). Internet browsers have a feature that automatically fills forms based on previous information typed into the browser. This will cause issues during student testing because the browser will automatically enter previous usernames, passwords, and even answers. To prevent this, follow these steps: In Macintosh OS X: • Firefox: Go to Firefox > Preferences. Click the “Security” icon. Under “Passwords,” uncheck the “Remember passwords for sites” option. • Safari: Go to Safari > Preferences. Click the “Autofill” tab. Uncheck all autofill options. • Chrome: Go to Tools > Preferences. Click “Never Save Passwords” and uncheck “Enable Autofill...” In Windows: • Firefox: Go to Firefox > Options. Click the “Security” icon. Under “Passwords,” uncheck the “Remember passwords for sites” option. • Internet Explorer: Go to Tools > Internet Options. Click the “Content” tab. Under Personal Information, select “AutoComplete.” Uncheck all boxes and click on the “Clear Forms” button. • Netscape Navigator 8.0: Go to Tools > Options. Click the “Form Fill” tab on the left side of the screen. Select the “Datacards” tabs at the top of the window, and look in the area below. Under the “Details” tab, there is an option that states: “When I visit a site with forms:” Select “Do Nothing.” Next, click on the “Preferences” tab. Change “When I enter form information:” to “Do Nothing.” • Chrome: Go to Tools > Preferences. Click “Never Save Passwords” and uncheck “Enable Autofill...” In Macintosh OS 9: • Internet Explorer: Go to File > Preferences. On the left side, select “Forms AutoComplete.” Click the circle next to “Disabled.” • Netscape Navigator: Go to File > Preferences. On the left side, click the arrow next to “Privacy & Security,” then click “Forms.” Uncheck the box next to “Save form data from web pages when completing forms.”
